LWOW Sprint is an intensive, team-based experience that requires full student commitment before, during, and after Sprint.
Attend all 7 mandatory Pre-Sprint Learning Modules (13 Jan–24 Feb 2027)
Attend and actively participate in all three days of Sprint (5–7 Mar 2027, Glasgow)
Contribute fully to team problem-solving, solution development, and prototyping
Present on stage with their team at the ConPosium
Complete a Post-Sprint Creative Reflection
Before + After Sprint
During the 7 weeks leading up to Sprint, students should expect to spend approximately 3–4.5 hours per week in training, team meetings, and completing assigned tasks.
Mandatory weekly Zoom sessions with LWOW leadership are held Wednesdays, 20:30–22:15 UTC (3:30–5:15 p.m. EST) and run for 1 hour 45 minutes.
After Sprint, students complete a Post-Sprint Creative Reflection capturing their experience, team and solution, key learnings, and professional and personal growth.
Your Role: Student Hacker
Each Sprint team brings together 2–4 Student Hackers, professionals from the sponsoring organization, and LWOW Innovation Coaches, Project Managers, and/or Mentors.
Students are the “Do-ers” on their teams.
You are not there to observe or simply assist experienced professionals. You are expected to contribute. Student Hackers work alongside professionals throughout Sprint to:
Research and problem-solve
Take notes and track team ideas
Create and design prototypes
Create the Ignite-style pitch deck, design logos, write the tagline
Present the final solution alongside the team at the ConPosium
Sprint moves quickly, so students are expected to be present, engaged, and available to their team throughout all three days, including additional team time when needed.
TECHNOLOGY
For Pre-Sprint Learning, students need:
A computer with webcam
A strong, reliable internet connection
Zoom (latest version preferred)
Students must also bring a laptop to Sprint. Tablets alone are not sufficient for Pre-Sprint Learning or the in-person Sprint.
