In 2013, we announced our first Global Law Firm Partner, Eversheds, a firm that frequently tops the league tables when it comes to innovating in the global legal sector. Their sponsorship lasted for four years. In partnering with LawWithoutWalls, Eversheds is able to deepen their relationship with key clients, target innovative and talented recruits, and broaden the skillsets of their existing lawyers.

LWOW X PARTNER

In 2015, Jim Ferraro, an American litigation attorney well known for representing thousands of blue-collar workers in mass tort cases and an avid supporter of increasing access to justice, will be our sole sponsor of LWOW X. Mr. Ferraro's generosity enables us to increase access to LawWithoutWalls to students from the University of East London (UEL). Participating UEL students will be mentored by attorneys from Barclays in London.

A LawWithoutWalls school since 2013, IE University is a top international university in Spain with campuses in Madrid and Segovia. IE is recognized worldwide for its quality in teaching and learning. In January 2016, IE University hosted our LWOW Original KickOff on their beautiful Madrid campus. IE University formerly hosted our LWOW KickOff in 2013 on the Segovia campus. Both IE Business and IE Law participate in LWOW. Professor Soledad Atienza, director of the Bachelor of laws, has played an integral role in LWOW's collaboration with the University.

Barclays, a global financial firm, expanded its support of LWOW by sponsoring the pilot year of LWOW X. Through its partnership with the University of East London, Barclays broadened the opportunity to take part in the LawWithoutWalls community and enriched the mentoring experience for both attorneys and students.

Being a multinational image and electronics company, Ricoh supports LawWithoutWalls as a technology partner. Ricoh has showcased its various interactive projection and printing technologies at our in-person events. Additionally, Ricoh hosted a cocktail party at the LWOW Original KickOff in Dublin and awarded a digital camera to all 2015 LawWithoutWalls KickOff winners. Ricoh sponsored our Caricature + Chow lunch at our 2016 KickOff in Madrid.

LWOW began in 2011 with 20 students from 6 law schools. In 2015, LWOW involved 100 students from 30 law and business schools. With our growth has come an increase in administration and technology costs.

Our sponsors provide great support to the administration of LWOW; however, each year we struggle to find funds to cover costs that are crucial to the student experience. For example, we fund the participation of students from underprivileged and far away places. We design and manage school application processes and conduct interviews, thereby enabling us to hand select the best students. We tailor-make cross-cultural, diverse, but balanced teams of students and mentors. We provide technology training and technology platforms for our teams to effectively communicate virtually. We organize events and thought leader sessions that include interactive, multidisciplinary activities and content and access to renown experts in the fields of law, business, technology, and entrepreneurship.
