Get to Sprint from London

BY TRAIN

LWOW international participants have the choice of flying into any of the London area’s many airports: Heathrow, Stansted, Gatwick and Luton. However, London Heathrow is likely the arrival port for most LWOW international participants. From these airports, a short tube or train-ride takes you into London where you can catch a train to Milton Keynes. There are also coach services from the airports.

From Heathrow, you can travel by *Underground to London Euston Station and board a direct Avanti West Coast or London Northwestern Railway train to Milton Keynes Central.

  • Duration: 30-40 minutes, depending on the train type.

  • Cost: £10-£30, depending on ticket type and time of booking (book earlier for cheaper rates).

*London Transport underground trains leave from Heathrow Airport every 9 minutes on the Piccadilly Line (maps of the underground system are displayed prominently at the station), changing at Green Park onto the Victoria Line to Euston. At Euston follow the signs for Euston railway station.

BY COACH/BUS

Alternatively you can take a direct National Express coach from Heathrow to Milton Keynes. National Express offers direct coach services from London Heathrow Airport to Milton Keynes Coachway.

  • Duration: Approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes.

  • Cost: Fares range from £16 to £23, depending on booking time and demand (book earlier for cheaper rates).

  • Frequency: Coaches depart hourly throughout the day.

BY TAXI OR PRE-BOOKED CAR SERVICE

If you have a few people traveling together with luggage, it may be more affordable to share a taxi or hire a pre-booked car service. Though travelers at Heathrow Airport can hire from on-demand taxi ranks outside each terminal, fares for on-demand taxis can vary and may be higher than pre-booked services.

  • Duration: Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on traffic

  • Cost: Fares range from approximately £70 to £149, depending on car, demand and if fares are pre-booked.

  • Pre-Booking: To ensure availability and secure a fixed fare, it's advisable to pre-book your taxi or car service. See options here. This approach also allows you to select a vehicle that suits your specific needs, such as larger groups or additional luggage space. Carlton Car Service is another option: a local Milton Keynes firm offering competitive fares with the prices airport taxis would charge. *Note: A nominal car park charge may be incurred when meeting flights (some services offer free waiting). Also, if you are held up, for example by baggage claim or immigration, be prepared to be charged extra for this. You should agree the price beforehand.

To Buckingham from Milton Keynes

When you arrive at Milton Keynes Central station, you can take the X5 coach towards Oxford. Buckingham (town centre) is the first stop after about 20 minutes. X5 coaches run every 30 minutes throughout the day. The University of Buckingham Hunter Street campuses are about a 10 minutes walk from the bus stop.

Taxis from Milton Keynes to Buckingham cost between £15 and £25.

Complimentary Sprint Coach/Bus

LawWithoutWalls will provide a Coaches/Buses for transport to and from the LWOW Sprint 2025 between Milton Keynes and Buckingham on the 3 days of Sprint 14-16 March 2025.
