More than just a class.
We team 95+ students from 30 law and business schools around the world with mentors (academic, entrepreneur, and lawyer mentors). Over four months, student/mentor teams must identify a problem in legal education or practice and create a Project of Worth—a prototype and business plan for a legal start-up that solves the identified problem. This Project of Worth could include a business plan for a new startup or designs for new methods of arbitration enforcement. However, the Project of Worth is much more than a paper, presentation, or idea—it is a real solution to a real problem facing the legal marketplace.
More than just a conference.
Each course offering begins with a KickOff (in-person or virtual) that includes interactive exercises to foster idea generation, teaming, self-assessment, presentation, and communication skills. In hack-a-thon like style, teams create a real innovation over the course of two days.
We conclude at the ConPosium, an event (in-person or virtual) wherein teams present their Projects of Worth to a panel of multidisciplinary judges, including venture capitalists, who assess the substance, viability, and creativity, of the projects.
More than just a webinar.
Utilizing cutting-edge video technology, the LWOW Community meets together weekly to debate hot issues at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation. We call these LWOW Live sessions. These interactive exchanges are led by globally-recognized Thought Leaders (experts in their fields) and are available for CLE credit. Meanwhile, the teams meet virtually each week to investigate their topic, identify and solve a problem, and, ultimately, develop their Projects of Worth.
THE INNOVATION BEGINS.
LWOW begins with the KickOff, an in-person or virtual experience of interactive exercises to foster idea generation, teaming, self-assessment, presentation, and communication skills. Here, teams get to know themselves and each other to lay the foundation for the process ahead.
EXPLORING THE FRONTIER OF LEGAL ED + PRACTICE.
Each week, the LWOW Community gathers together for an interactive, lively debate centered on hot topics in legal education and practice. Led by Thought Leaders, these sessions feature live video, audio, and type chat. All are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Virtual Dynamic Teaming
BRINGING IDEAS TO LIFE.
Teams are in constant communication using a multitude of technologies (e.g., Skype, WhatsApp, WeChat, and Adobe Connect). They meet virtually each week to investigate their topic, identify and solve a problem, and, ultimately, develop their Projects of Worth. The students engage experts in interviews, conduct field research, and receive guidance from their multidisciplinary and global group of mentors.
Each LWOW program concludes with the ConPosium. This dynamic, interactive event is either in-person or virtual, enabling global participation. Student teams present their Projects of Worth to a panel of multidisciplinary judges, including venture capitalists. Both the audience and judges offer commentary and assess the substance, viability, and creativity, of the projects.
